Wedding Vows Wording - How to Write Your Own

<

Most couples don’t write their own . Three reasons that I can think of.

One, it’s hard to do. Alot of couples have told me they were going to write their own wedding vows and then backed out after giving it a try. They just couldn’t seem to get something together.

Two, they are afraid it will make them too emotional in the wedding ceremony. It’s my experience that couples get just as emotional doing the traditional vows as if they say their own.

Three, they are worried they won’t be able to remember what they have written. But you don’t have to. You can have your vows written out on a piece of paper, hold it in your hand and glance at it as needed. No one thinks badly of you for doing that if you’ve taken the time to write your own vows.

Here are three reasons why you might want to write your own wedding vows.

One, it makes your wedding ceremony unique. Everyone has heard the standard vows. They have not heard yours.

Two, guests like to hear the couple speak. That’s why they came.

Three, the wedding vows are the most important part of the whole ceremony.

If you’d like help in writing your own wedding vows, I have a website with a bunch of free information to help you, including some examples of real wedding vows that couples have used in weddings I have performed.
