A Tennessee marriage license now costs about $100.

Unless you take at least a 4-hour marriage preparation course, and get a notarized completion certificate from the Course provider. With the notarized completion certificate in hand, you get a $60 discount when you go to get your TN marriage license.

Here’s what you do if you want to use my Course and save $60 on your marriage license:

1. Spend at least 4 hours using my online marriage preparation course at this site. That’s very easy to do. Most couples get started and have so much fun, they spend far more than 4 hours.
2. Pay $20 through PayPal below with credit card or check.


3. (Wait, I thought the Course was free. The marriage course is free to anyone who wants to use, but providing the completion certificate requires some work on my part, including time and costs of going to the bank to get it notarized. You still net a $40 savings on the license - and get a marriage prep course. Since I am the Course provider, I am the only one who can issue you a completion certificate for using this online course).
4. Next, go to this page for instructions on emailing me brief responses to the general questions you find there to verify that you have used the Course for at least 4 hours.
5. After getting your email, I will then by regular mail (United States Postal Service) send you your official Tennessee government notarized completion certificate. It must be mailed - CANNOT be faxed or emailed - since my name is notarized on it you must have the original. While I usually get the certificate in the mail the day after getting completion answers, DON’T wait til the last minute and possibly not get your completion certificate in time to get your license.
