A group of women were asked what they thought was the perfect man, and I presume who would make the perfect husband.

The answer: Mr. Potato Head!

The reasons they gave for their answer:

• He’s tan

• He’s cute

• He knows the importance of accessorizing

• And, if he looks at another woman, you can rearrange his face!

Most people do have at least a mental image of the perfect mate. One bride I had helped with her wedding, had actually written out her description of her ideal mate years earlier…I think as part of an assignment at camp.

Ok, here’s an exercise you may want to try. Guys, you list 5 qualities of the perfect wife, and ladies you list 5 qualities of the perfect husband.

If you are brave enough, you can exchange your lists and discuss.

Now, no one is perfect, and we can’t have that expectation of each other.

But it’s another way to explore marriage expectations and the different needs of husbands and wives.
